On this Sunday we had a central theme of service. As we reflect this Remembrance Day upon the men and women who gave their lives for our freedom, we explore how our church body can continue to serve others in a still broken world.
Operation Christmas Child
Featured Guest: Wilma Frost has 27+ years of involvement with Operation Christmas Child (Samaritan's Purse ministry).
Her Core Message: It's not just about the box—it's about the child behind the box and sharing the gospel.
Impact: Each box includes teaching about Christ; children receive only one box in their lifetime as their opportunity to hear the gospel.
Personal Story: Wilma shared about meeting Santos in Senegal, a former Muslim who became a Christian after watching the Jesus film. Through a Spirit-led moment, she gave him a backpack for his son and a pink backpack for his daughters.
Global Reach: Reports indicate that approximately 1,000 churches have been planted as a result of this shoebox ministry.
Trinity's Organizational Structure
Featured Guest: Paul Westcott (founding elder, 41+ years at Trinity)
The Purpose of an organizational flow chart: Created to help people understand who to contact for different ministry areas and to reduce burden on leadership.
Key Principle: The chart represents the body of Christ working together—many parts, different gifts, one mission.
Opportunities: Multiple areas for involvement including Sunday School, worship, sound tech, greeting, men's and women's teams.
Philosophy: "Everybody can't do everything, but everybody can do one thing".
The Central Theme of Galatians
"The grace of God is the power of God to do the will of God".
Doug emphasized that serving isn't about filling slots—it's about expressing love for God and others. Christians are called not just to be saved, but to be saved with purpose—to make a difference in God's kingdom.
Call to Action
The church family articipated in the Operation Christmas Child packing party, with a total of 119 BOXES packed and ready to be shipped!
Doug encouraged us to find our place to serve in the church (review the organizational chart).
Pray: "Lord, how can your love flow through me this season?".
Use your God-given gifts and talents to share His love.
Scripture Reference
The service included a reading from Haggai 1:14-2:9, emphasizing God's presence with His people as they work: "Take courage...and work. For I am with you, says the Lord of hosts."
