5 Reminders for New Parents

This Sunday, we had the joy of dedicating five children to the Lord, and we were reminded of five simple words that shape our faith and our families.
ADORATION
We are image bearers, upheld by Christ in us. Our children are watching, and the love of Christ shines on our faces as an unmistakeable beauty to eyes of all ages. Nobody is perfect - but knowing our security in Christ means our kids see adults filled with a joy that can't be found without the Father.
IMITATION
Children catch our faith by watching where we place our trust. They're always watching. Ensuring we are healed and whole in Christ means that they too grow up with a confidence in a mighty God whose love brings us healing, freedom and unending joy.
REST
True rest is found not in striving, but in Jesus. We have the privilege of showing our kids that there is no need to run the "rat race". We stand on the promises of God and rely on Him to fight our battles, as we lay them at his feet and lift our hands with praise.
DANCE
Faith is meant to be enjoyed, held securely in the Father's love. Think of a child who stands on their Mama's feet as she dances in the kitchen making dinner. In the same way, we have the privilege of enjoying our journey with Jesus as an adventure held secure by our Heavenly Father.
GRATITUDE
Give thanks now, because these moments are holy and fleeting. May we live our faith in a way that our children can follow and find life.
